Under the University constitution, while the Chancellor is described as "the Head of the University", the Vice- Chancellor is the "Principal Academic and Executive Officer of the University". He functions as a “bridge" between the executive and the academic wings of the university and as he is the head of both these wings, he is both a “teacher” and an "administrator".

It shall have charge of the management and administration of the revenue and property of the University.

The Academic Council is responsible for laying down, regulating, and maintaining the standards of teaching, research and extension in the University. It has the right to advise the Executive Council on all academic matters.
The University Registrar is responsible for the supervision and management of all administrative and operational functions of the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students; facilitate effective student registration and enrolment; maintains up-to-date course schedules.The Registrar supervises the processes for the articulation of transfer credits, graduation and certification of baccalaureate and associate degrees, enrollment and degree verification, production of official transcripts, diplomas, and commencement ceremonies. The Registrar counsels and advises students, faculty, and staff on academic matters; and interprets and enforces policies and regulations of the University, the Registrar chairs the Registration, Credits, and Graduation Council, Calendar Committee, Registration Committee, Grade Appeal Committee for undergraduate students, Commencement Committee, Residence Rule Appeal Committee; and is a member of various other Councils and Committees.
